A few weeks ago we welcomed Michael Honke to Pointwise’s Product Development team. Michael is currently completing a masters in computer science at the University of Waterloo.
Michael is a Scientific Technologist (his undergraduate degree is in Physics from the University of Winnipeg) and for the next several months he’ll be programming and writing new features for Pointwise.
Of course, his first task was to come up to speed on how Pointwise works. And with that behind him he has already written his first CAE import/export plugin that should be included as part of Pointwise V18.3 R2.
Once Michael completes his internship with us and his thesis (A Fully Eulerian Grid Simulation of Ferrofluid Interfaces with supervising professor Christopher Batty in the Computational Motion Group) he’ll be deciding whether to pursue a PhD or do his research in the private sector.
What will he decide? Tune in after the first of the year and we’ll report what he accomplished during his time with us.
That’s also about the time we’ll be opening our summer 2020 internships. Hint, hint.
