Pointwise is very happy have been recognized as a Best Place for Working Parents 2020 by Best Place for Kids, a Fort Worth organization dedicated to supporting a bright future the city’s children. The recognition is based on our “commitment to supporting working parents through our family-friendly policies and practices.”
Carrie Jefferies, who leads our Business Operations Team, was asked by BP4K to share how Pointwise is responding to working parents’ needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Pointwise, Inc. hasn’t had to make any changes to how we accommodate working parents during the COVID-19 pandemic. FLEXIBILITY and TRUST are key in employer-employee relationships; our culture and benefits reflect that. Employees have always been able to take care of familial issues by using the GENEROUS FLEX-TIME and PTO policies and WORKING FROM HOME when needed. There have been times when employees have brought their children to the office when the situation dictated. We always try to ACCOMMODATE PARENTING, realizing it’s a balancing act for working parents. In the end, we find that taking care of the families means our work family gets taken care of too.”
The cool thing about Carrie’s reply is that we didn’t have to be reactive when faced with the pandemic. Our existing policies have always accommodated our employees’ needs. As the saying goes, you hire employees and people show up. This just makes good sense.
And this explains why I keep an assortment of games, puzzles, balls, and other toys in my office. They’re not for me. Really.
